Today I am going to talk to you about my last-year internship. I made it in an event agency named Ara Loisirs. In fact, the only “real” job that I have made is at MacDonald and I only work there since two weeks. So, I thought it wouldn’t be interesting to talk about it right now.
The agency was a very small one. Not only it was composed by two persons but it was also on their first place of work. Indeed, before taking care of their own agency, both of them were working for France 2 programs.
My internship lasted two months. It was between January and March. I was assistant of communication. My tasks were to select ideas of “parisian days” for costumers and realize their presentations on Word (with pictures and texts).
I need to precise that by “Parisian days” I want to talk about ideas of expositions, visits (such as in castles, churches, special places…) and activities such as TV shows or plays. My colleague and I had to find attractive things to do in Paris. We had to create an entiere day by selecting an activity in the morning, a place to eat at lunchtime, and then another activity.
Not only it was supposed to be original ideas but it was also supposed to match with the budget and the critters. I need to add that the activities we were booking with my colleague were not for our customers but for theirs. For example, we had to work for a few town halls. We were preparing some projects for old people. We also had to work for a few high schools and, as a matter of fact, for students.
The only visit that I have made and where I went was at the Château de Vincennes. I was with a group of old people.
I am going to talk about the atmosphere. The fact that we were directly working on France 2 TV studios, made us work with a ton of people. In our own office, we were almost ten and everyone was really nice. I probably won’t remember them in a few years, but it was pleasant to go and to work there. We celebrated a few birthdays.
We saw some emissions with Nagui which is a famous TV personality. It was nice to see behind the curtain.
What could have been better?
My tasks could have been more interesting. They could have been more various because I easily got bored. We were always doing the same thing and we were always on our own because everyone was on the shoots. There was nothing much to do and I didn’t like what we had to prepare. Now I know that I don’t want to work in this domain. In any case, not in this part. I prefer helping on the events than to be behind. I don’t want to always prepare the same kind of propositions. I am not a very creative person but it was too much for me, not to do anything and not to propose any “very-different” things.
